Our class blog is a way for us to share our learning with other people and to gather our hard work throughout the year. Sharing our learning means that it is very important that we understand how to use the blog and the internet in a secure way.

Rules for online safety:
- I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents' work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents' permission.
- I will tell my parents right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable.
- I will never agree to get together with someone I 'meet' online without first checking with my parents.
- I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first checking with my parents.
- I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable.
Rules and Guidelines:
- Student work will only be identified by first names.
- Proof-read your comments carefully. Students should have a family member check for spelling mistakes before submitting a comment.
- Please be positive.
- Always write in full sentences – no “text talk” please! You should have a capital letter for your name, beginning of a sentence and a full stop at the end of a sentence.
- Do not give out the password to anyone you do not know.
Commenting Guidlines:
Good comments:
- are not hurtful
- are always related to the content of the post
- include personal connections to what the author wrote
- answer a question, or add meaningful information to the content topic
- ask a question
- follow the writing process. Remember comments are a published piece of writing.
